At the end of this course you will have the opportunity to be assessed for The Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme Bronze Award and if successful will recieve a certificate and rosette from The Kennel Club.
Beginner classes are for puppies from 6 – 8 months to adulthood or older dogs new to training. Some of the exercises covered in puppy class may be covered again if need be and also exercises which make up the Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme Bronze award :-
Collar and lead, the requirements of the law
Walk on a loose lead
Control at door/gate
Controlled walk amongst people and dogs
Stay on lead for one minute
Grooming and examination of the dog by owner
Return to handler
The Beginners class will sometimes be amalgamated with the puppy class depending on demand, so if there are a lot of puppies going up to Bronze but not many new pups they will all be in the one class from 7pm till 8pm.
